Digital & Social Media Strategist

This is preferably a Houston-based role, but we will consider remote/hybrid candidates.
In this role, you will be accountable for:
Developing and contributing to strategies to achieve and/or exceed client goals
Executing social media tactics proactively and reactively
Executing email marketing tactics proactively and reactively
Assisting with digital advertising needs
Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients and online communities
Consistently securing results for clients in order to grow month-over-month, quarter-over-quarter
Continuing education in order to retain current clients and attract new clients
Serving as expert on clients' key messages and digital opportunities
Key Job Functions & Responsibilities:
Social Media: Responsible for the social media strategy development and execution for 4-5 full-time clients:
Develop quarterly, biannual or annual social media strategies and content pillars for clients
Develop all content for social media pages for client and send to client for approval, when necessary
Development of monthly or weekly content calendars
Development of weekly or daily posts, including but not limited to Facebook (Facebook Live, Facebook Events, Facebook Fundraisers, etc.), Instagram (Reels, Instagram Stories, Highlights, IGTV), Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest, LinkedIn and more
Keep social media pages current – including integrating platform changes and trending topics, update cover photos or working with team members or Graphic Designer to update
Monitor all platforms (including review sites; for those in scope) and draft responses to positive and negative comments, looping Manager, Digital & Social Media in for final approvals
Use social media to seek and engage in conversations taking place in order to benefit goals of the client
Proactively seek out social media opportunities that may help client business prosper
Establish continuous growth, impressions and engagement for all client accounts, following goals set out with Manager, Digital & Social Media, Project Manager and/or Senior Manager, Client Accounts, team members and clients
Responsible for measurement, analysis and reporting growth of social sites in order to recognize growth patterns, identify issues and proactively make suggestions to improve strategy to meet client goals
Develop progress updates or recaps, for Manager, Digital & Social Media, Project Manager and/or Senior Manager, Client Accounts to send to client, during and after social media campaigns, as appropriate
Become expert on client’s business, industry, brand, talking points, competitors, community
Assist PR Specialists in maintaining relationship with strategic partners over digital channels for mutually-beneficial cross promotional opportunities
Monitor all competitor and industry social media presences, across all channels and provide strategic recommendations
Attend relevant client events or photoshoots to take photos/video (for all clients) to be used on social platforms and live tweet/post/respond on channels for designated client
Attend client site to gather photos for all clients, when appropriate
Email Marketing: Responsible for the email marketing strategy development and execution for 2-3 full-time clients
Manage strategy and execution of weekly or monthly email marketing needs; review with Manager, Digital & Social Media
Development of monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annual content calendars
Develop all written copy needed for email newsletters/eblasts
Assist with multimedia content needed for email newsletters/eblasts
Work with graphic design team to develop all visual content needed for email newsletters/eblasts
Ensure all email contact lists are kept up to date, tagged and segmented as appropriate
Ensure email marketing strategy and execution of strategy aligns with other team members’ work and scope (ie: social media posts, social media ads, website, etc.)
Establish continuous growth, click-through rates and traffic to website (or sales) for all client accounts, following goals set out with Manager, Digital & Social Media, Project Manager and/or Senior Manager, Client Accounts, team members and clients

Set aside time to learn about email marketing best practices and test new strategies and tactics
Digital Advertising: Responsible for supporting and/or owning (depending on experience) the digital advertising strategy and execution for all clients utilizing service line on ongoing or ad hoc basis
Develop and/or contribute to developing, correctly and strategically place and manage social media advertising strategy and ongoing monitoring and analysis; provide suggestions if/when it is not working
Develop and/or contribute to developing, correctly and strategically place and manage Google/PPC advertising strategy and ongoing monitoring and analysis; provide suggestions if/when it is not working
Develop and/or contribute to developing strategies surrounding other digital advertising initiatives (ie: paid email marketing campaigns with online outlets, banner/display ads, etc.) and execute, working with relevant team members and/or Graphic Designer for necessary creative and collateral
Work with Manager of Digital & Social Media to consistently grow as a digital and social media advertising professional, to engage in continuing education and to put this learning into practice for clients
