Case Study: ZACHOR Holocaust Remembrance Foundation

While our initial goal in working with ZACHOR Holocaust Remembrance Foundation was to launch its online curriculum, we stayed on board to assist in raising long-term awareness AND funds for the organization.

CHALLENGE

ZACHOR Holocaust Remembrance Foundation was founded by Holocaust survivor, Ben Lesser. Ben's daughter and granddaughter are the organization's only employees, both working on a part-time basis. As such, the non-profit did not have a fully-flushed out fundraising strategy or pipeline. Like Minds was charged with utilizing smart PR strategies to help generate awareness AND donations for the non-profit.

STRATEGY

Utilizing Ben's story of survival and his hope that 6 million people would wear his ZACHOR (remember) pin, Like Minds was able to pitch Ben as a thought leader in order to ultimately raise awareness for the organization's shop-able items: Ben's book and his hallmark "ZACHOR" pin and ZACHOR jewelry to Jewish media members and consumer media across the country (and even in Israel!). Like Minds pitched Ben's story both proactively in advance of holiday season to secure gift guide coverage, and reactively in response to rising hate and anti-Semitism in the United States.

RESULTS

Like Minds secured coverage in dozens of Jewish publications across the country, as well as the following national publications, contributing 38% of all traffic to the shopping page of ZACHOR's website during the COVID-19 pandemic:
